Summary: The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will stick to rather slow charging, unfortunately. 25W wired charging has been confirmed for both smartphones thanks to 3C certification. This is China’s official certification, so chances are that the information is quite accurate.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 charging won’t exactly be fast. Neither smartphone will get a charging speed boost compared to their predecessors, it would seem.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Galaxy Z Flip 7 will offer rather slow charging, just like their predecessors
How do we know that? Well, both smartphones got certified by China’s 3C authority, which revealed their charging speeds, basically. The Samsung SM-F7660 and SM-F9660 have appeared, which are the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, respectively.
The 3C certification basically showed us their chargers. Both devices are set to have dedicated Samsung EP-TA800 chargers, which support up to 25W charging speeds. That is very unfortunate, needless to say. That also doesn’t mean that thoes chargers will be included in the retail box, though, of course. They won’t, at least not in most markets.
We were at least hoping for a boost to 45W which the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra offer, but that did not happen. Needless to say, 25W charging is quite outdated at this point in time. Samsung is opting to stick with it for some reason, though.
Both phones will launch at the same time later this year
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will launch at the same time. We’re still not sure if the launch event will take place in July or August, but it will surely be one of those two months.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is tipped to get a main camera boost to 200MP. In addition to that, it will have larger displays, and a less visible display crease. The phone is also expected to be notably thinner than its predecessor.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7, on the other hand, will have a larger cover display, more in line with what Motorola’s clamshell foldables have been offering.
