Gallery: Thousands flock to Apple Harvest Festival despite gloomy weather – The Ithaca Voice

ITHACA, N.Y. — The wind was blowing. The rain was falling. Umbrellas were deployed and puddles slowly formed on the Ithaca Commons and Cayuga Street, where the majority of vendors for this year’s Apple Harvest Festival were stationed.

Yet there were just as many people waiting for fresh apple cider donuts as ever, though the configuration of this year’s festival meant the line took on a serpentine shape on Cayuga Street as opposed to the traditional mass of humanity stretched down the Commons.

Some autumn rain doused Apple Fest visitors during parts of Saturday and Sunday, but it didn’t seem to dampen the spirits of the attendees who showed up in droves for the annual celebration of all things apple-related.

If you were unable to brave the conditions, here’s a taste of what you missed at this year’s Apple Fest.
