NVIDIA is shaking things up with GeForce NOW by offering a new Performance membership plan, though it’s more of a plan update than a new plan being added to the service. Ever since the GeForce NOW launch NVIDIA has offered a Priority membership plan. It initially came with 1080p resolution, but NVIDIA is bumping that today while renaming the Priority plan to Performance and adding some other improvements.
Of course, it’s also another Thursday which is the day NVIDIA adds new games to the service. So if you subscribe to GeForce NOW you have a few new games you can stream in the cloud starting today. If you’ve yet to try out GeForce NOW, there’s no better time to give it a shot. Yes, the new performance plan is an even better value with the improved resolution. But, NVIDIA is also discounting the Performance and Ultimate plan day passes by 25% for a limited time.
So you can check out either plan for a day to see how you like the service, and if you want to stick with it you can renew for a full month or a full 6 months. For reference, the day pass for the Priority membership used to be $3.99. With today’s name change, it’s now available for a limited-time offer of $2.99. The Ultimate plan is now $5.99 instead of $7.99.
The GeForce NOW Performance plan also now supports Ultrawide monitors
The update to 1440p resolution is great but NVIDIA is doing subscribers one better by also including support for Ultrawide monitors. This is a feature that was previously available to the Ultimate plan only. That meant if you didn’t really care about the up to 4K resolution but you did have an ultrawide monitor and wanted the support for it, you needed the Ultimate plan regardless. Now, however, you can have the less expensive plan and have ultrawide monitor support. This is a huge benefit for prospective members.
In addition to that, it showcases NVIDIA’s commitment to layering value for its cloud gaming service. All without raising the monthly cost of any of the plans.
GeForce NOW adds 7 new games this week
As for the new games, there are 7 new titles to dive into. This includes the addition of StarCraft: Remastered, and StarCraft II, both of which were also just added to Xbox Game Pass this week. It is worth noting that these are the PC Game Pass versions of these games on GeForce NOW. The games were already available on the service as of April but this was for those who owned them through Battle.net.
Other new games this week include Planet Coaster 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, Empire of the Ants, Unrailed 2: Back on Track, and TCG Card Shop Simulator.
