It looks like October is going to be a pretty decent month for GeForce NOW subscribers with regard to the number of games being added, including the recently released Throne and Liberty that launched on PC this week.
In total GeForce NOW will be adding 22 games for the month of October. That’s definitely on the larger side of things as it’s not the service’s smallest month, but it’s also not the biggest month. Nevertheless, it will include some pretty large game additions. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be launching on October 25, and it’s already been confirmed that it will be playable on GeForce NOW on launch day. So you can play it on PC locally. You can also play it in the cloud if you don’t have a powerful PC. In doing so, you can take advantage of those awesome graphics upgrades and frame rate boosts.
In addition to Throne and Liberty and Black Ops 6, GeForce NOW subscribers can stream 20 additional games throughout the month. Including Mechwarrior 5: Clans which releases on October 16. The remaining games dropping today include Sifu, Bear and Breakfast, Monster Jam Showdown, and TerraTech Worlds. Throne and Liberty comes to GeForce NOW
Throne and Liberty is a new free-to-play MMO that just launched on PC via Steam back on October 1, and it’s available to play in the cloud starting today. As an MMO it has all the trappings of what you’ve probably come to expect from these types of games. Hundreds of quests, raids, dungeons, crafting, and a whole lot more. What makes Throne and Liberty interesting is that it uses a classless combat system that bases your abilities on the weapon you have equipped.
This is somewhat similar to the way things are done in Final Fantasy XIV. The main difference is that Final Fantasy XIV does have classes, as well as jobs which are basically upgraded versions of the classes. Where the two games are similar in combat is with the ability to equip a new weapon and gain new abilities. Both games implement this mechanic. Final Fantasy XIV simply adds an extra element by changing your class alongside the weapon.
There’s an even larger similarity between Throne and Liberty and New World. As New World uses this mechanic as well and also foregoes the class system entirely. So, you are what you wear in a sense. If you liked New World’s combat, you might like Throne and Liberty. There are lots of other interesting mechanics as well, like the “morph” ability that lets you turn into various animals for map traversal and extra combat skills. If you’re looking for something new to play and you enjoy MMOs, give this one a shot.
The new account portal lets you see playtime details and history
Outside of the new games added, NVIDIA has also pushed out a new update to the account portal. You now have the ability to see details about your playtime, as well as your gameplay history. These stats won’t necessarily appeal to everyone. They will, however, be a nice added bit of information. Specifically for subscribers who want to see how much time they spend with GeForce NOW.
If for no other reason, it can be a good way to see if you’re getting your money’s worth. Assuming you’re subscribing to one of the paid memberships.
