Taking inspiration from the film’s Emerald City architecture, both vehicles showcase Art Deco designs.

Are you ready to visit the Emerald City? Wicked fans can arrive in style in the new 2024 Lexus TX, which has partnered with the upcoming film adaptation to design two custom cars around the aesthetics of Glinda and Elphaba.

Called the Elphaba TX and Glinda TX, the one-of-a-kind vehicles—distinguished by their characters’ signature green and pink hues—will make their world debut on the green carpet of the legendary Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at tonight’s Los Angeles premiere.

“We’ve designed each vehicle to capture the magic of Wicked and bring the cinematic experience to life for its passionate fans,” said Cynthia Tenhouse, vice president of Lexus marketing. “Just as Glinda and Elphaba each possess distinct powers and vibrant personalities, these customized vehicles spotlight their distinctive styles, ensuring that fans ‘Experience OZmazing.’”

Taking inspiration from the many facets of the film’s Emerald City architecture, both vehicles showcase Art Deco designs that embody the city’s enchanting aesthetic.

The Glinda TX is an electric pink, adorned with shimmering gold accents and wheels. Sporting a custom POPULR back vanity plate as a clever nod to Glinda’s signature song in the film, the vehicle also features an extra bit of magic with pink underglow lighting.

In contrast, the Elphaba TX features a deep emerald-green exterior accented by bold gold details and underglow green lighting. The tires are complemented by a geometric golden wheel, while the DFY GRVTY back vanity plate provides a playful reference to the character’s soaring anthem.

The Wicked screen adaptation, which will include new songs by Stephen Schwartz, is helmed by In the Heights screen director Jon Chu. Wicked book writer Winnie Holzman has penned the screenplay, and Tony winner Paul Tazewell designed the costumes.

Wicked, injecting a new backstory onto the classic tale The Wizard of Oz, debuted on Broadway in 2003 and continues to be an audience favorite at the Gershwin Theatre. Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, the musical features music and lyrics by Schwartz and a book by Holzman. The original cast included Tony winners Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth as Elphaba and Glinda, respectively. The musical is now the fourth longest-running production in Broadway history.

The show won 2004 Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical (Menzel), Best Costume Design (Susan Hilferty), and Best Scenic Design (Eugene Lee).
