The Xiaomi 15 flagship smartphone has been spotted on the FCC certification website, indicating a global launch. Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 15 in China recently.

Xiaomi 15 global variant applies for FCC and BIS certification

The Xiaomi 15 has been launched in four storage variants and two models. However, neither the Xiaomi 15 nor the Xiaomi 15 Pro has launched outside China.

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a global variant of the Xiaomi 15. The tech giant is currently securing the relevant certifications for the smartphone.

The Xiaomi 15 recently surfaced on BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website. This confirms the smartphone’s launch in India. Now, the Xiaomi 15 has reportedly appeared on the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification website.

Xiaomi to limit the variants of flagship smartphones outside China?

The Xiaomi 15 has appeared on the FCC certification site with the model number 24129PN74G. The “G” stands for “Global”. The same model number with the suffix “I” appeared on the BIS website. The “I” stands for India.

According to the FCC’s listing, the global variant of the Xiaomi 15 could be available with 12GB RAM. Buyers could get either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

In China, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 15 in multiple variants. Buyers can opt for the top-end “Pro” model of the smartphone with 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. It appears Xiaomi might not launch this variant of the smartphone outside China.

The FCC listing has further confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 will run HyperOS 2.0 and support wireless charging. The HyperOS 2.0 running on the global variant of the Xiaomi 15 could be based on Android 15.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset powers the Xiaomi 15. The smartphone packs a 5400mAh battery and accepts two physical nano SIM cards. The phone features a 6.36-inch 1.5K OLED M9 display. This is an LTPO panel, and it offers a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which can go down to 1Hz. The global variant of the smartphone should retain most of these features.
