Google has been offering a collection of free channels as a part of its “Freeplay” catalog for Google TV devices for a while now. The search engine giant has now updated its Freeplay catalog and has added a handful of free channels. Most of the free channels added to the Freeplay catalog deliver content focused on kids.
Google TV continues to add more channels to the Freeplay catalog
Google continues to rotate or refresh the list of Google TV Freeplay channels now and then. The list is growing again as it now offers nine more free channels, with most focused on providing content for your kids.
The new free channels for the kids include Sonic The Hedgehog, Teletubbies, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Rangers, and Xumo Free Kids TV. There’s also a free channel that streams Baby Shark content 24 / 7.
Three out of the nine new free channels are for adults. Google TV is adding Filmrise: The New Detectives, Women Behind Bars, and Filmrise: Hot Ones for free for adult users.
Freeplay catalog now has more than 170 free channels
Google TV’s “For You” tab already displays some of these new free channels. All the new free channels bring the total number of channels on Google TV’s Freeplay catalog up to 174. 9to5Google reports that the catalog has removed some channels. However, there’s no word which free channels Freeplay catalog has removed.
It’s worth mentioning that Google hasn’t yet updated the support page that lists all Free channels. The current list on this page still doesn’t include the aforementioned nine new channels. Also, the Freeplay channels include advertisements during streaming.
Notably, you can access additional free live channels by downloading apps like Pluto TV, Plex, Haystack News, and Tubi. These applications provide a much wider range of free channels for Google TV devices.
