Here Are the Cheapest Countries to Buy a Samsung Flagship

Whether or not you feel like Samsung has the best flagships in the market doesn’t change the fact that they’re the biggest Android manufacturer out there. In my opinion, that’s due to the fact that it makes a lot more than just flagships, and its devices—especially its very best—manage to launch in nearly every region of the world on the exact same date.

However, one thing that needs to be understood is that even with a steady price per unit, customers in different regions don’t get the phone at an equivalent amount. Taxes, tariffs, inflation, and all sorts of related costs can push up the price of the phone. That means buying a Galaxy S25 is cheaper in some countries than others, so let’s explore that.

The Cheapest Place to Buy a Galaxy S25 Is Samsung’s Home Country of Korea

If you were to convert respective currencies around the world to a standard one—in this case, let’s say the Australian Dollar (AUD), since the study used that currency—you’d find some countries pay more, and others pay less, to get their hands on a Galaxy S25 device. Most people will be interested in the country where you can get the phone the cheapest, as there is an advantage to knowing that. Everyone loves to save money, after all.

Thanks to Compare the Market, a comparison platform, we have actual answers to that. Perhaps it isn’t that surprising, but South Korea, Samsung’s home country, happens to be the cheapest place to get a Galaxy S25 series device, at $1,271 AUD. That’s definitely a nice little perk to support your home country, especially as South Korea has always had low prices for its flagships, even if they haven’t always been the lowest.

The United States Comes Very Close, Followed by Canada and Australia

South Korea might be the cheapest, but what comes next? Interestingly, it’s the United States, and there’s only a difference of $21 AUD between them. Effectively, that means you don’t need to push yourself to fly over to South Korea to buy a new Samsung—you’re basically getting the same sweet deal.

After that is Canada, about $70 AUD higher than South Korea, and then Australia, which is over $120 AUD more expensive than South Korea.

An S25 in Turkey Is the Most Expensive in the World, Yet Was Once the Cheapest

Now, if you happen to live in Turkey, it might actually make sense to figure out a way to buy an S25 in South Korea or the United States and have it find its way to you. Turkey is the most expensive place to buy one of Samsung’s new devices and by quite a lot. You’d have to pay $2,343 AUD. That’s about $1,050 AUD more expensive than in South Korea!

Recent taxes, inflation, and import fees have led to this. It’s quite tragic, too, considering that when the Galaxy S8 came out, Turkey was the cheapest place to get one.

South Africa very typically has to pay a lot more for Galaxy smartphones, and two other countries where the prices are annoyingly high include the United Kingdom and Germany.
