Here is Samsung's take on the Dynamic Island

Samsung fans are playing the waiting game right now. Along with waiting for the Galaxy S25 series, they’re also waiting for Samsung to launch One UI 7. Lucky beta testers can see what Samsung has up its sleeves for us. Thanks to a new report, we know what Samsung’s Now Bar looks like, and it may look familiar.

The company recently opened the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S24 series. So, if you want to try it out, be sure to hop on. Go into the Members app on your phone, sign in to your Samsung account, and look for the notification telling you that you can join the beta. Just know that, if you install the beta, you’ll be on unstable software, so install it at your own risk.

Samsung’s Now Bar looks pretty familiar

Since One UI 7 represents a major leap forward, we expect some pretty big additions to the software. One major addition is the Now Bar. This pill-shaped UI element sits at the bottom of the screen. The Now Bar will show you several bits of information like the apps from the apps you use the most, media controls, timers, real-time notifications, travel itineraries and more.

Despite its position, we can deny that Samsung took some inspiration from the Dynamic Island on iPhones. Several companies have lifted this feature and created their own takes on them. Some of them were more shameless than others.

Samsung at least tried to be original. It placed it at the bottom where it’s easier to interact with it. In any case, you can’t argue with the concept. Samsung’s Now Bar brings essential information right to you and it lets you interact with the apps you use most often without needing to open them.

The Personal Data Engine

One UI 7 will bring a slew of new and exciting changes, and they don’t stop at the Now Bar. The company also introduced a treat for people who care about their data privacy.

The latest One UI 7 beta brings the new Personal Data Engine. This technology will make sure that all of your personal data stays on your phone. It also encrypts your data, which adds another layer of security.
