Here’s All The Tech You Can Expect To See At CES 2025

Every year, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) comes around. It usually happens in the first quarter of the year, serving as a great way to get your tech love warmed up for the rest of the year. This year, CES 2025 will begin on January 7th in Las Vegas.

CES is the time of the year to see some of the absolute coolest tech and this year is going to be no different. CES is still about two weeks away, but we can guess some of the things that we’re going to see there—some specific and some general. Let’s dive right into it.

Here Are The Companies And The Tech That We Can Expect To See At CES 2025

There’s going to be a whole lot of action at CES 2025, as there always is. AI is bigger than ever, so we expect that to show up in a lot of keynotes and presentations this year. Anyway, let’s dive into what you can expect to show up!

Plenty Of Vehicle Manufacturers Will Be Making The Trip

Cars weren’t always “electronic”, but these days, it’s hard to say that they have no right showing up at an event like CES. Volvo, Toyota, and the agricultural machinery giant John Deere are just among some that will be present at CES 2025. In the case of the latter, you’ll be surprised at how much computer vision and AI are required in their weed sprayers and harvesters.

Aptera Motors will debut a solar-powered EV and Honda will show off the two prototypes. Volvo and Toyota could be showing off EVs, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Instead, the focus might be on the tech inside the vehicles or new autonomous navigation or safety developments. At least, we know that’s the case for Hyundai and BMW.

Nvidia Will Be There, And The RTX 50-Series Could Show Up

Business-wise, Nvidia is having the time of its life, so its presence at CES is a guarantee, and AI will be mentioned for sure. However, word is that the company will also decide to show off its new GPU series, the GeForce RTX 50-series, based on the new Blackwell architecture. The RTX 5090 is expected to take the spotlight.

AMD Refuses To Be Outshone: RDNA 4 GPUs Set For CES; Qualcomm Could Surprise

AMD isn’t going to let Nvidia take all the shine with its new GPUs. The other big chipmaker is expected to show up with its new generation of GPUs, so I’m looking forward to that as competition is always fun in the chip space.

Qualcomm could potentially show up with something new, whether it is a new mid-range or entry-level chip for smartphones or something to go along with all of the new laptop releases. It should have a little bit of a say related to chips for cars though.

Get Ready To See Way Too Many New Laptops

CES is always a great time for computing brands to release new laptops. We’re going to see a lot of the “traditional” laptops, a lot of Copilot+ laptops with Snapdragon processors and AI built right into them, and hopefully some cool concept laptops for some “wow” factor. On that last one, we know we’re going to see a Lenovo laptop with a rollable display, so that’ll be nice.

LG, Samsung, Sony, Hisense, TCL, Panasonic: TVs And A Slew Of Other General Consumer Electronics

It is the “Consumer Electronics” Show, so it’d be odd if we didn’t see the typical consumer electronics that we all know and love—TVs, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, refrigerators, and the like. Multiple electronics companies are going to show up, as they should.

The only ones among the bunch that we can try and predict are the TVs. Expect to see bigger models, potential new display technology, and cool ideas similar to Samsung’s The Frame TV. And with AI being the thing of the moment, get ready to see smart TVs that integrate that more intelligently.

HDMI 2.2

HDMI 2.1 came out all the way back in 2017, and eight years later, we’re going to see HDMI 2.2. That’s pretty much confirmed, though it could potentially be called something else. With this, we expect support for higher refresh rates and potentially even higher resolutions than 10K—which HDMI 2.1 already covers.

New Wearables, Probably With A Lot Of AI Built Into Them

We know TCL and Shokz are going to be at CES this year, and with that in mind, we can likely expect to see different AI-powered earbuds and smart glasses show up. XReal showed up last year and could potentially show up again. Next year is the year for smart glasses and visors to take hold, so I’d be surprised to see only a company or two show them off.
