WhatsApp has become one of the most popular messaging apps globally, allowing users to text, share media, and make voice or video calls.
For video call users, WhatsApp recently introduced a much-awaited feature for both Android phones and iPhones that allows users to enable filters during calls.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to enable this feature.
Open WhatsApp

Launch the WhatsApp app on your phone by tapping on its icon.
Find the contact you want to call

Once inside the app, navigate to the chat list or use the search function to locate the person you wish to call.
You can find the search bar at the top of the screen: simply type the contact’s name into it.
If the person isn’t already in your WhatsApp contacts, you will need to add their phone number to your device’s address book.
Open the contact’s chat

Tap on the contact’s name or profile to open your chat with them. You’ll now see all previous conversations (if any) and options to send messages or initiate a call.
Choose video call

At the top right corner of the chat screen, you will see two icons: a phone and a video camera.
Tap the video camera icon to start a video call.
Choose a filter

Select the effects icon (looks like a magic wand) located in the top right corner of your camera preview. Then, just choose one of the available filters and backgrounds.
When your conversation is finished, tap the red phone icon to end the call. This will disconnect the call immediately.
