Huawei Mate X6 to be inspired by the world's first tri-fold handset

The Huawei Mate X6 will be inspired by the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, which also comes from Huawei. The device in question is the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design, and this information comes from SmartPikachu, a tipster.

Now, the Mate X6, as many of you know, is the company’s upcoming book-style foldable flagship. Based on the tipster’s words, this phone will adopt a thin and light design. Huawei allegedly aims to make it noticeably thinner and lighter than the Mate X5.

The company is also planning to use the Mate XT body materials here. In other words, the durability may improve, and leather will be found on the back of the device. Well, at least in some of its variants.

The Huawei Mate X5 arrived in September last year. That basically means it has been over a year since the company announced it. We were expecting the Mate X6 to arrive in September this year, but that did not happen.

The Mate X6 is kind of a mystery still

Now, we don’t know much about the Huawei Mate X6. We do expect it to include a circular camera island on the back, with three cameras included on the inside.

Large displays are also expected, and both of them will likely be OLED panels. This smartphone will be fueled by the Kirin chip, we just don’t know which one. The Huawei Mate 70 is expected to arrive with the Kirin 9100, so perhaps that’s the one Huawei will use in this foldable too.

It’s anyone’s guess when will this phone launch, though. It may launch alongside the Huawei Mate 70 series at some point this month. On the other hand, Huawei may have different plans, and it could announce it separately. We’ll just have to wait and see.
