Huge custom car, truck show coming to Glendale – Daily Independent

Special to Independent Newsmedia

The largest free truck and car show in Arizona will motor back into Glendale in November.

Already the biggest GM-only truck show in the country, the 14th annual Dino’s Git-Down will also feature custom and vintage Chevy and GM trucks from across North America. It all goes from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at State Farm Stadium, 1 Cardinals Drive.

Look for more than 6,000 custom and restored Chevy trucks on display Friday. The event then opens up to anything GM – custom hot rods, cars and trucks – on Saturday.

The two days will include 250 local and national vendors specializing in Chevrolet/GM products offering engines, suspension parts, transmissions, audio systems, wheels, paint, mufflers, lifts, upholstery, metal fabricators and more.

Everything needed to build a custom project will be there.

Admission and parking are free.

Included again this year are the cruising lane and the top 100 trucks, some of which will end up at the Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson auction, a press release notes.

Saturday will feature a free raffle of two engines, a transmission, bucket seats and other vendor products.

“It’s unbelievable the reach this event has,” event founder and organizer Dino Battilana stated. “There is something for everyone – from 1947 to 1998 custom trucks. There is a hat for every head.”

Dino’s Git-Down roots stem from a gathering of local Chevy truck owners at Battilana’s home.

“The crazy thing is, this started in my backyard and expanded to the parking lot of my business,” he said.

As the event grew, the venue was changed to keep up, finally landing at State Farm Stadium.

In addition, Cure Realty Cares will be on site selling T-shirts with all proceeds going to cancer charities.

Dino’s Git-Down is presented by Classic Performance Products and sponsored by Courtesy Chevrolet, Switch Suspension, UP Car Parts, Auto Nation Parts and Chevy Only.
