Xiaomi has finally rolled out the first HyperOS 2.1 global update to its last year’s flagship phone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The latest software update isn’t as big as the HyperOS 2 update but packs a bunch of new features and AI capabilities.
Xiaomi finally rolled out the HyperOS 2.1 global update with new features
Folks over at XiaomiTime yesterday reported that the HyperOS 2.1 global update for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with firmware version OS2.0.102.0. If you don’t have the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, don’t worry; the latest update might soon pop up on other eligible devices too.
HyperOS 2.1 revamps the home screen and control center. For example, you can now choose a new 4 x 6 home screen layout when the search box is off. Speaking of the control center, you’ll now find an adjustable flashlight. The update also adds a smart active flashlight notification feature to minimize battery consumption.
As far as the camera improvements are concerned, the HyperOS 2.1 global update improves night mode for night photography and enhances snapshot capabilities in backlit scenarios. The new software update also optimizes imaging performance across different lighting conditions.
You’ll also notice some changes in the gallery app of your Xiaomi phone after the update. There’s a redesigned album layout with a hiding option called “Today, On This Day” and a new album display column. You’ll now be able to mass-delete files or execute bulk actions with a long press within the gallery app. The update also enhances search features for certificates, locations, and time.
The update also brings gaming improvements and adds new AI features
HyperOS 2.1 also optimizes the gaming interface and improves performance with a new “Performance Dashboard” for a seamless gameplay experience. Not to mention, the new software update also adds some AI features.
The Xiao AI assistant now offers a contextual suggestion. Besides, you will now be able to use Google’s Circle to Search feature after the update. That’s not all; the album generation and media search now support voice input control.
Talking of connectivity, there’s a new “Networkless mode” to enable voice chats without an internet connection. The update also makes cross-device file transferring seamless via multiple Xiaomi accounts. Moreover, it’s worth noting that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was among the first few devices to receive the global HyperOS 2 update.
