The name says it all

Gallery - Simple and fast-1

Gallery – Simple and Fast

Gallery – Simple and Fast lives up to its name with a user-friendly and logical layout. The interface is divided into the Memories, Albums, Explore, and Magic AI features. Memories captures recent images, and I use Albums to search for photos because it categorizes them into camera, videos, screenshots, and other folders.

The Explore feature lets you search for online images and save them into categories like people or places. This app includes numerous editing features to adjust the aspect ratio, colors, contrast, and more, but lacks a magic AI eraser function. Instead, you get a Magic AI tool for creating custom avatars and accessing ChatGPT. Most users probably don’t need this paid feature, but it’s a fun extra for those who do.

A simpler alternative to Google Photos

Google Gallery

Google Gallery is an offline alternative to Google Photos for viewing your locally-stored photos and videos. This app is best for users who don’t want online syncing of their media files and prefer to store them on memory sticks or external drives. It has basic editing features like cropping and image presets and is mainly for viewing and sorting your files.

The minimalist Google Gallery layout is ideal for users who want an uncomplicated experience. The main window displays all your photos chronologically with shortcuts to screenshots, videos, and screenshots at the top of the page. The Folders page divides your media into camera, downloads, screenshots, and more to make finding the photos and videos you’re looking for easier.

Gallery – Photo Gallery & Album

Gallery – Photo Gallery & Album offers many advanced features compared to other free alternatives. The clean interface displays all the media at the top of the page and places all the buttons at the bottom where they’re easily reachable with one hand. When opening the app, you’ll see the Pictures menu which displays your images chronologically, followed by the Album screen which divides your media by camera, screenshots, and more for easy sorting.

The Creator feature adds fun to the app with various templates and other editing tools to spice up your images. The app also has an in-depth editing tool for adding text, frames, filters, and other effects to make your pictures stand out. Users looking to keep their media away from prying eyes can try the Privacy feature. It lets you import photos and videos into a secure folder and protects them with a user-created code or pattern.

1Gallery

1Gallery is a basic app for users looking for simplicity without unnecessary features to complicate things. The Albums page alphabetically displays all your folders, such as camera, messages, downloads, and more. Opening them reveals a grid layout which you can adjust to make the images bigger or smaller depending on your preference. The app also has Videos and Favorites menus for corresponding media, and a secure album that requires your email address and a password to open.

In keeping with its simplistic functionality, 1Gallery has basic editing tools, such as cropping, adjusting the aspect ratio, and changing the contrast, saturation, and lighting. You won’t find drawing tools, filters, or other advanced features. Sharing with 1Gallery is easy because it links to other installed apps like WhatsApp, Outlook, and Gmail.

Sponge - Gallery Cleaner2

Sponge

Most people let thousands of images and videos pile up on our phones because we can’t be bothered to sift through them and delete the ones we don’t need. Sponge – Gallery Cleaner makes the process easy and fun, and the space you free can also improve your phone’s performance. All you need to do is scroll through your images, swipe right to keep a photo, and swipe left to delete it.

You can always use the undo button if you delete an image by mistake, before progressing to the Proceed to Delete section, which acts as a recycle bin to confirm your choices. After you’re done, you’ll get a fun animation displaying the amount of space you’ve freed up. The free version of Sponge – Gallery Cleaner lists your folders by date, and you can open them to delete the pictures you don’t need. However, it’s worth paying for the premium version if you need advanced features like duplicate photo detection, video cleaning, and sorting by name, date, and size.

Supports uncommon file formats

Aves Gallery

On the surface, Aves Gallery has a standard interface displaying photos chronologically in a grid format. It also offers shortcuts to videos, favorites, and folders like screenshots and downloads. However, it goes further than other gallery apps by offering an Explorer function to search internal folders like Android and DCIM for content. The advanced search options make it easy to search by collection, date, albums, and other criteria like countries, places, and ratings.

Aves Gallery is compatible with standard file formats like JPEGs and BMPS, and can also open more uncommon ones like SVGs, TIFFs, and AVIs.

Aves Gallery is compatible with standard file formats like JPEGs and BMPS, and can also open more uncommon ones like SVGs, TIFFs, and AVIs. It also has a handy converter feature that lets you change an image’s size and quality, and save them in BMP, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP formats. Aves Gallery doesn’t have a built-in editor and directs you to alternative apps on your phone. It somewhat makes up for it with a casting feature to display your videos and images on a monitor or TV for easier editing.
