Developer and tech leaker Alessandro Paluzzi has discovered that Instagram appears to be working on a new feature that could allow users to generate a profile picture using AI directly in the app.
Facebook and WhatsApp are also known to be working on similar features. All three social media services are owned by Meta.
Presumably, it would work by taking a user-chosen photo and converting it into an AI image, perhaps with a selection of options so you can choose your favourite style.
