iPhone 16e's Bluetooth audio bug frustrates users

Summary: iPhone 16e users are annoyed by a new Bluetooth audio bug. It is affecting users on the latest version of iOS, and it’s creating problems with connections to Bluetooth speakers. The audio is cutting off and stuttering. Multiple simultaneous Bluetooth connections are also creating problems for the device. Apple has been notified, so this will hopefully be fixed soon.

It seems like Apple’s shiny new iPhone 16e units are having an audio bug, and it’s annoying users. This is happening after the iOS 18.3.2 update, by the way, which was released earlier this week.

The iPhone 16e users are annoyed by a new Bluetooth bug

Users have been complaining about this over at the Apple Support Community, Reddit, and X. Quite a few of them are complaining about this. So, what exactly is happening? Well, it seems like the audio being streamed from the device to Bluetooth speakers is periodically cutting off, and it’s also stuttering.

We’re not sure if every single unit on that version of iOS is affected, but it is an issue. It could be resolved in iOS 18.4, which is currently in beta and expected to drop next month. We’re not sure.

Apple did not officially admit to the but or anything of the sort. Quite a few people reported it, however, so the company is hopefully aware of this and will fix it in iOS 18.4.

This issue appears when the phone is connected to multiple Bluetooth accessories too

Furthermore, some users are saying that the issue appears when the iPhone 16e is connected to multiple Bluetooth accessories simultaneously as well. So it doesn’t seem to be isolated to Bluetooth speakers alone.

As a reminder, the iPhone 16e was announced last month and is already available to purchase. Its price is a bit higher than expected at $599. It’s $200 more affordable than the iPhone 16, but it comes with a number of concessions too.

The phone does not have MagSafe, while its SoC has also been tweaked a bit. There is only a single camera on the back, and it doesn’t support all the camera features from the iPhone 16. There is no Dynamic Island, and so on. You can check out a more detailed list by clicking here.
