Apple has reportedly been developing a new slim iPhone called the iPhone 17 Air. It will supposedly be the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever made — thinner than the iPhone 6, which measures 6.9mm in thickness. Now, a new concept video shows us what the iPhone 17 Air might look like.
What might the iPhone 17 Air look like?
In the concept video shared by Technizo Concept on YouTube, the iPhone 17 Air has a completely new design. It is noteworthy that this concept is based on recent leaks, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
On the back, the iPhone 17 Air could possibly feature a horizontal camera setup with three lenses. However, some reports indicate that the final model might have one or two lenses. The iPhone 17 Air could feature a new part-aluminum, part-glass design. The glass is needed to enable wireless charging, so you won’t need to plug in a cable. One of the most interesting features is the USB-C charging port, which will allow faster and more efficient charging than the ports on older iPhones.
On the front, it may house a 6.65-inch OLED display with ProMotion, meaning the screen should be smoother and faster. The Dynamic Island that shows notifications could be smaller than on the current iPhone 16 models.
The iPhone 17 Air will replace the ‘Plus’ model in Apple’s lineup, making it one crucial addition this year. The iPhone 17 Air will likely be about 2mm thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro, which measures 8.25mm in thickness. This could make it about 6.25mm thick, one of the thinnest iPhones Apple has made.
iPhone 17 Air to be less expensive than Pro models
Reportedly, the company is on its way to making the iPhone 17 Air less expensive than the Pro models. Despite being ultra-thin, the iPhone 17 Air will come cheaper. Like the Plus models, the iPhone 17 Air would likely cost less than the Pro models.
Assuming recent reports to be true, the iPhone 17 Air would retail for under $1000. If the iPhone 17 Pro doesn’t get a price increase, the iPhone 17 Air may come at around $899, similar to the iPhone 16 Plus. The thinner iPhone might arrive with the iPhone 17, which is expected in September 2025.
