iPhone 17 Air to be Apple’s thinnest smartphone: Design revealed (video) – RBC-Ukraine

Famous blogger Lewis Hilsenteger (Unbox Therapy) demonstrated mockups of upcoming models, and the iPhone 17 Air stands out in particular. According to him, the device will become the thinnest iPhone in history – its thickness will be only about 5.5 mm, while, for example, the iPhone 17 Pro will be almost 3 mm thicker (approximately 8.7 mm).

Such minimalism raises questions about durability. Rumor has it that Apple is using a titanium-aluminum body to prevent the smartphone from bending, especially considering the experience with the iPhone 6 Plus, which became infamous for its tendency to deform.

The screen of the iPhone 17 Air has also been revised: initially, a display with a diagonal of 6.9 inches, like in the Pro Max, was planned, but in the end, Apple settled on 6.6 inches – all for the sake of increased reliability and reducing the risk of the body bending.

The presenter also noted that such thickness could affect battery life. However, according to rumors, Apple has optimized the internal space by eliminating unnecessary cameras and using an energy-efficient C1 modem along with updated software. All of this is expected to maintain battery life at the level of current models.
