iPhone SE 4 specs, price & launch month revealed in big leak

The non-Pro iPhone 16 models, especially the Plus variant, are showing lower-than-expected demand. However, the launch of the next-gen iPhone SE could make things up for Apple. Rumors about the device have been surfacing for months now, but it seems the company is all set to launch it soon. A new leak has revealed all the key tech specs and potential price of the iPhone SE 4.

The leak shows that the iPhone SE 4 will be a big improvement compared to the previous model. In some ways, it is even more future-proof than last year’s vanilla and Plus iPhone 15 variants, as it could support all of Apple Intelligence features.

The iPhone SE 4 could be as powerful as the non-Pro iPhone 16 models

The iPhone SE 4 could boast the A18 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. This is the same base configuration as the non-Pro iPhone 16 models. Apple may have made this decision to fully integrate its suite of AI features into the device as a key selling point. For reference, the current iPhone SE features just 4 GB of RAM.

The phone could be built around a 6.06-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,532 x 1,170 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Again, this is a lot better than the 4.7-inch LCD display of the previous generation. Additionally, it will feature a more modern design, eliminating the chunky bezels at the top and bottom and replacing them with symmetrical bezels around the display. This means the removal of the Touch ID sensor and the presence of a notch.

Big battery & camera improvements; Apple’s first modem

Speaking of the notch, it may feature a 12 MP front camera that supports Face ID. The rear area of the iPhone SE 4 will integrate a single 48 MP camera. A 3,279 mAh battery with support for 20W wired charging is said to keep the lights on. The device could also be the first in the iPhone SE lineup to support MagSafe accessories.

According to the specs leak, Apple’s first modem will make its debut in the iPhone SE 4. The company holds high expectations for its modem, as it could potentially replace Qualcomm ones, thereby reducing production costs for future iPhones. The modem is codenamed Centauri and will be manufactured by TSMC. Other features may include an IP68 rating and a weight of 165 grams.

The iPhone SE 4 potential price and launch month

The improvements in the next-gen iPhone SE could also be reflected in a higher price. The report claims that the device could be priced between $499 and $549. For reference, the iPhone SE 3 cost $429. Lastly, the iPhone SE 4 could arrive in March 2025 alongside new iPads.
