Leak shows off ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro plus accessories

ASUS recently announced the ROG Phone 9 as part of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sumit this week, and now a leak is showing off the more powerful ROG Phone 9 Pro model. ASUS has yet to confirm this version of the phone exists. So to make things completely clear, it isn’t certain that ASUS is making a ROG Phone 9 Pro. With that being said, ASUS has made a “Pro” model for several generations of the ROG Phone series at this point.

It’s almost a given that this isn’t changing with the ROG Phone 9 series. It’s also worth mentioning that ASUS did refer to the ROG Phone 9 as the “ROG Phone 9 series” in its announcement earlier this week. So this confirms that there will at least be another version of the phone available. It’s just not clear what that version will be. Nevertheless, it isn’t hard to guess what ASUS has coming, given its past releases. Now, with the leak available, consumers are getting their first look at the more powerful version of ASUS’s latest ROG Phone.

As one would have guessed, it comes with some accessories. These may or may not come packaged with the phone when you purchase it. However, devices like the ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition did come with some extras. So it is safe to assume that at least one or two of these will be in the box with the actual phone.

The ROG Phone 9 Pro leak shows off the new AeroActive Cooler

The AeroActive Cooler is arguably the most important accessory for ROG Phone devices. It’s a neat little attachment that snaps onto the back of the phone to help facilitate better cooling for the phone as it heats up. ASUS has done a pretty stellar job at improving the cooling in the ROG Phone with each iteration. And in many cases, you can enjoy gaming on the phone without the AeroActive Cooler.

That being said, longer gaming sessions with more demanding games can really warm the phone up. In these situations, ASUS recommends using the cooler attachment to keep the phone at optimal temperatures. This is so it performs to the best of its ability. The last thing you want, after all, is for the phone’s performance to dip because it’s not being cooled efficiently.

In the leak which comes from 91mobiles, you can see the new AeroActive Cooler for the ROG Phone 9, and surprise surprise, it doesn’t look much different from past versions. You still have two mappable back buttons to play with and there’s a large fan just under the RGB ROG Eye logo.

And just like with the AeroActive Cooler X for the ROG Phone 8, there’s a small button at the top of the attachment you can press. This is used to extend the top part of the attachment that clips onto the top of your phone.

You press that button, then slot the phone, and then push down on the extended part. This locks it in place. One thing that has changed is the color of the buttons. On the AeroActive Cooler X, these back buttons are black. ASUS seems to have gone back to the white color buttons that were used on older models of the AeroActive Cooler.

The phone has a bumper case and a tempered glass screen protector as well

In addition to the cooler attachment, the ROG Phone 9 Pro appears to come with two other accessories. At least judging by this leak. There’s the tempered glass screen protector, and then the bumper case.

The screen protector is generally something that you can buy separately. The Pro model may come with it in the box. As for the bumper case, this could be in the box with the phone as well. It will also be a nice way to keep the phone protected from dings. It’s unclear how well the phone will be protected from drops with it. However, there does look to be some raised parts around the corners and the edges. Including around the rear camera array.

If this is the case, then the phone should be fine from drops that aren’t too high. Anything can happen though. So it’s always best to try and not drop the phone in the first place. The case also appears to be just a bumper with no backing. Though it’s hard to confirm from this image. What seems likely is that the backing is clear so you can see the back of the device. This is what ASUS did with one of the cases for the ROG Phone 8 series.

The clear plastic backing also served to keep the back of the phone from touching any surface it might come into contact with. If we had to guess, the case would come from a manufacturer called DevilCase which made cases for at least two of the previous ROG Phones. If it is the case from DevilCase, this will probably be an optional purchase. Not the case that comes in the box with the phone.
