Electric bicycles are becoming more and more popular, but there are other options too. You can always electrify your existing, regular bicycle, and that’s exactly what the LIVALL PikaBoost 2 does.
The LIVALL PikaBoost 2 is a new e-bike conversion solution
LIVALL’s new kit has been announced at CES 2025, and it’s an e-bike conversion kit which is supposed to make the transition painless. This is an all-in-one attachment, which only simplifies things.
As you can see, it’s meant to be mounted at the back of your bike, behind the seat. The LIVALL PikaBoost 2 integrates a motor, battery, control system, LED taillights, and a fall detection & SOS alert system.
The LIVALL PikaBoost 1 was rather popular, so the company decided to upgrade it, and this is what it came up with. The company says that it took into account user feedback when designing the PikaBoost 2.
It will fit a wide range of bicycles
This product will fit wheel sizes from 14 to 29 inches and supports tire widths of 25-65mm. So it’s technically compatible with mountain, road, and hybrid bikes. It offers four riding modes, Power Assist, Eco Assist, Cruise, and Workout.
The PikaBoost 2 features a patented AAR 2.0 technology. You’ll be getting personalized e-bike assitance with amplified pedal power and effortless hill climbing. There’s also the regenrative braking system which captures kinetic energy during coasting or workout mode, and generates 100 wats of electricity at 25 km/h (15 mph). That will extend battery life, basically.
LIVALL also made sure that the product is safe to use. There are five layers of protection included here. That includes anti-slip tires, intelligent e-brake, fall detection, slip detection, and LED rear lights.
There is a 158Wh battery included, and you can fully charge it in 3 hours
There is a 158Wh battery included on the inside here, and provides up to 70km (43 mi) of range, with an optical 220Wh upgrade for 90 km (55 mi). You can fully charge this battery in 3 hours.
The motor on the inside of the PikaBoost 2 is engineered with 99.99% pure copper windings and the company’s proprietary magnetic core. The LIVALL 500 series motor achieves 88% conversion efficiency, says teh company.
The price tag was not announced just yet, nor did the availability details.
