The gorgeous Jaguar S-Type, which was first built in 1999 and ran all the way until 2007 before it was discontinued, can make for a great used car buy thanks to its executive styling and serious performance.

With its throwback design, the S-Type was lauded upon its release for its interior and ride, while the high performance ‘R’ version was the ultimate super saloon.

Nowadays, petrolheads can find the 4.2 V8 engined iteration for a snip, and it comes with the sort of performance that’s equal to the mythical BMW M3.

In fact, according to Parkers, it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds and boasts a limited top speed of 155 mph.

From new, the S-Type would’ve cost just over £50,000, which, adjusted for inflation, works out at around £83,000 in 2024.

However, today, they can be found for less than the price of Britain’s cheapest new car – the £13,795 Dacia Sandero.

Indeed, we found an example on the Autotrader website for just £9,999.

This maroon beauty, which was first registered in 2007, comes with 109,000 miles on the clock and even an automatic gearbox.

This comes as the beloved British car brand recently announced that it won’t sell any new cars in the UK for an entire year after it unveils its upcoming EV sports car.

Classic Jaguar left inside barn for 40 YEARS found alongside Rolls-Royce

Jaguar has scrapped its entire product range in order to meet its target of going electric-only from 2025.

The move sees the end of the road for the firm’s iconic petrol models and the breaking of an illustrious 88-year tradition.

For the first time since 1935, Brits will be unable to buy a Jaguar car with an internal combustion engine from next year.

To that end, Jag unveiled the final model of the popular F-Pace SUV – marking its farewell with a special 90th anniversary edition.
