MAINE (WABI) – The Maine Cancer Foundation has been awarded $717,000 in lodging and transportation grants.
The two-year grants will help Mainers across the state when it comes to quality cancer care.
In total, 14 programs were selected to receive funding.
Among the recipients in our area are Friends in Action, which is receiving $40,000, and Island Connections which is receiving $10,000.
Both programs are based in Hancock County.
Kennebec Valley Community Action Program is receiving $60,000.
Pleasant Point Health Center in Washington County is also getting $60,000.
There are also multiple statewide program receiving funds.
