LANSING, Mich. (WNEM) – The State Transportation Commission (STC) approved the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) final version of the 2025-2029 Five-Year Transportation Plan (5YTP) to post on its website.
The 5YTP contained a list of planned projects for the MDOT Trunkline Highway program, and well as information on programs for public transportation, railways, and aeronautics, the state said.
The document helps connect the department’s long-range goals and management strategies with monitoring of performance measures, the state said, adding it sets a foundation for trunkline projects in the state.
The state said some of the highlights of the 5YTP include $15.5 billion in anticipated state and federally funded investments, highlights on program initiatives and challenges, and a summary of public comments received during the comments period when the document was in its drafting phase.
