According to a report by Bloomberg, Meta may release a new pair of smart glasses together with Oakley later this year.
The glasses, which will have the working name “Supernova 2”, are said to be based on Oakley’s Sphaera model (shown above).
Instead of placing the camera on the side, as Meta’s first smart glasses with Ray-Ban did, the Supernova 2 is said to have the camera in the centre of the frame at the nose bone.
Otherwise, the glasses are expected to have similar features to the Ray-Ban model. Meta and Oakley hope that the new smart glasses will appeal to cyclists and other athletes.
It is worth mentioning that both Oakley and Ray-Ban are owned by eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica.
Samsung just announced Project Moonah in the flesh as the first Android XR headset.
