According to Windows Central, Microsoft is working on a portable Xbox console that could be released by the end of the year to rival the Nintendo Switch 2 as well as other handhelds like the Steam Deck.
Microsoft will make the hardware, which is codenamed “Keenan”, together with another PC company, such as Asus or Lenovo, but it is unclear which one.
The Xbox portable device is said to be similar to the upcoming Lenovo Legion Go S handheld gaming computer and is expected to run Windows along with Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass.
The hardware should also use Xbox buttons and follow the same aesthetics as the existing gaming consoles.
Microsoft Gaming boss Phil Spencer has previously said that a portable Xbox could become a reality, but that it would be a few years in the future. Microsoft itself has not commented on the information.
