Samsung is behind schedule with its One UI 7 update. Some newly introduced devices, such as the Galaxy S25, released in January, run the new version. However, the stable update has not yet been rolled out for others. The tech giant is still in the beta phase, and it looks like mid-range Samsung phone users in the US won’t receive the One UI 7 beta.
Mid-range Samsung phones in the US won’t receive One UI 7 beta
Samsung started the One UI 7 beta process in 2024 for seven countries, including the US. The company later reduced the number of eligible countries to four, but the US remained among those continuing the beta. The One UI 7 Beta 6, recently released for the Galaxy S24, shows that the work continues without slowing down.
Well, at least that works for flagship models. Mid-range Galaxy phones in the US allegedly won’t be able to access the beta update. This is because the only model eligible for beta testing is the Galaxy A55. However, it has not gone on sale in the country.
Unfortunately, whether the company will include another mid-range device in the program is currently unknown. Unless there is a last-minute addition, mid-range device owners will have to wait for the stable version to roll out.
There’s another way for users who don’t want to wait
US users who don’t want to wait any longer for the update can buy the Galaxy A26 or Galaxy A36. These devices already run Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box. Other than that, the only thing you can do is wait for the stable release.
Samsung previously announced that the One UI 7 stable update would roll out on April 7. In the US, the rollout will begin on April 10 with last year’s flagships. Mid-range and entry-level devices will receive the update later.
The devices that will receive the update first are the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 will receive the latest version in the coming weeks.
