Motorola is working on the next-gen models of its Edge and Ultra series, or so the reports say. The company is expected to launch both “traditional” and clamshell-like foldable mobile devices in the coming weeks. In line with this, the Motorola Edge 60 Pro and Razr 60 Ultra have been spotted in the FCC database, hinting at an imminent announcement.
Motorola Edge 60 series receive multiple key certifications
The Edge 60 series seems to be the most ready for an upcoming announcement. As spotted by 91mobiles, the alleged Motorola Edge 60 Pro variant has already received its corresponding FCC certification. Plus, the device has also received approval from BIS, EEC, Dekra, and TUV Rheinland.
The FCC certified the phone in a couple of variants with the model numbers XT2503-1 and XT2503-3. Previously, the XT2503-2 and XT2503-4 models received certifications from BIS and EEC, respectively. All of these models are said to be regional variants of the same device. The certifications confirmed 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi as connectivity options—nothing to be surprised about.
The charging adapter was also approved by the FCC and TUV Rheinland. The brick’s model numbers are MC-681N / 682N / 683N / 685N / 686N / 687N / 689N. The different models likely target the regional variants of the Motorola Edge 60 Pro.
The Edge 60 Pro battery was certified by Dekra under the model number RM52. This confirms a noticeable increase in cell capacity up to 5,100 mAh. For reference, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro draws power from a 4,500 mAh battery. The phone will retain support for 68W super-fast charging (68.2W to be exact) via USB-C. The listed cell manufacturer is Zhuhai CosMX Power JinWan Subsidiary.
FCC certifies Motorola Razr 60 Ultra with bigger battery, faster charging
Motorola is also working on the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra as one of its next foldables. The device has received FCC certification with model numbers XT2551-1, XT2551-2, and XT2551-6, as spotted by Xpertpick. There’s a dual-cell battery with 3,415mAh and 1,125mAh units. Motorola may promote a total battery capacity of 4,600 mAh. Plus, the FCC confirms support for 68W super-fast charging via USB-C. This is a big improvement over the 45W of its predecessor. The listing also mentions 5G, NFC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, as expected.
According to leaks, the foldable Motorola Razr 60 Ultra will have a 6.9-inch internal display. Lastly, the device could have at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
