MSI's 2025 Monitors include 600Hz Refresh Rate, OLED & More

Ahead of CES next week, MSI has announced its lineup of monitors for 2025 which includes OLED, Mini-LED’s and up to 600Hz refresh rates, oh my.

First up is the MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED Gaming Monitor, what a name. This gaming monitor unlocks lossless 4K 240Hz Gaming with DisplayPort 2.1a connectivity. As you might be able to tell from the name, this is a 27-inch gaming monitor, that has G-Sync compatibility, and combines Quantum Dot technology with an OLED panel. This results in near-instant 0.03ms GtG response times.

MSI is using a 5-layer tandem OLED panel (similar to the iPad Pro OLED) with EL Gen 3 technology, which improves efficiency by about 30%. That is combined with Long Lifetime Blue EL to deliver much better longevity and durability for this gaming monitor.

Next up is the MSI MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50 Gaming Monitor. This is another quantum dot OLED monitor that has a refresh rate up to 500Hz. That is incredible, and much faster than most other gaming monitors. It has a 3rd-Gen QD-OLED panel with a VESA ClearMR 21000 Certification, along with G-Sync compatibility, ensuring that you get exceptional motion clarity and vivid visuals at both high and low frame rates.

This one also sports DisplayPort 2.1a ports that can handle up to 80Gbps of bandwidth, that’s 2.5x more than what DisplayPort 1.4a supports.

Then there’s the MSI MPG 242R X60N Gaming Monitor, which is the incredible 600Hz monitor. Now you can really crush the competition. This monitor uses a Rapid TN Panel for blazing-fast refresh rates like never before. With its FHD resolution, it ensures that modern graphics cards can quickly deliver high frame rates to get the most out of this gaming monitor.

Rounding out the Gaming Monitors is the MSI MPG 272QRF X36 Gaming Monitor. This is MSI’s first monitor to feature NVIDIA’s new G-Sync Pulsar technology, and it also has a Rapid IPS Panel with a 0.5ms response time and 360Hz refresh rate. The MPG 272QRF X36 does also supports HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a and USB Type-A ports.

MSI’s new Smart Monitor runs on Google TV

Smart Monitors are really starting to take over, after Samsung had some success with their own. Now, MSI is getting into the game with its Modern MD272UPSW Smart Monitor. This is a 27-inch IPS 4K resolution monitor that has Google TV built-in. So you can use this monitor for work, and then flip over to Google TV to watch some Netflix.

MSI has not announced pricing or availability for any of the monitors it has announced today. We expect that to come in the coming weeks, however.
