There is a new kid on the block, or roads to be exact: Dutch car brand YKS1 has revealed a new design for a one-seater electric car that tilts like a motorcycle.
YKS1 One designed by company in Rotterdam
The YKS1 One is an electric car perfect for one person who wants to drive mainly in cities. It weighs around 600 kilograms and can reach speeds of up to 130 kilometres per hour, which means it could be used on highways, reports AD.
Not only can the car travel 350 kilometres with just one charge but it can also tilt up to 20 degrees on its four wheels. According to YKS1 in Rotterdam, the One will also be sustainably produced.

Single-seater cars more sustainable
According to a 2021 report by Statistics Netherlands (CBS), Dutch residents travel 69,5 billion kilometres per year, with most journeys being done in a car with just one person. However, this happens worldwide, with YKS1 stating on their website that “single-occupancy car trips are a major challenge for sustainability, efficiency, and urban mobility”.
With the smaller size of the YKS1 One and other microcars, you can reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption, while also improving traffic flow. It also uses fewer materials.
YKS1 is looking for investors to get the car into production and on the road to sustainable transportation.
