New transportation service available for Harlan County residents – KSNB


ALMA, Neb. (KSNB) – A new service in south central Nebraska is hoping to make life easier for people in that area.

Harlan County Health System announced the start of the Harlan County Transportation Program.

The service begins on Dec. 30.

“It’s all about connecting people, improving accessibility and making daily life a bit easier for everyone,” said Transportation Manager Bryon Guthrie in a post on Harlan County Health System’s Facebook page.

The public transportation is for anyone age 12 and up to be taken to medical appointments, shopping areas, social activities and more.

All the transit vans are ADA accessible and they can get you to most places in a 200-mile radius.

Cost varies depending on the type of trip and location.

People who want to use the new service are asked to make a reservation no later than 24 hours in advance, though 48 hours is preferred.

Operations are Monday through Friday with service hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and dispatch hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
