New York State Mandate Speed Warning Devices in Cars – wyrk.com

In New York State, there is a bill that is being proposed that would mandate car manufactures to have a certain device in cars.

It is a device that dings and warns people when they are going over 10 miles per hour over the speed limit. It’s important to not that it does not do anything, but just give you a reminder or warning that you are speeding. The device will not alert police or give you an automatic ticket. Here is what the law would state according to the New York State Senate website:

Mandates the use of intelligent speed assistance systems in certain motor vehicles registered in the state which were manufactured or assembled on or after January 1, 2029″.

“New York State Assemblyman Patrick Burke (D) told 7 News“I do not support the bill. It was submitted by a NYC member who has probably never driven a car in his life. I don’t anticipate this bill going anywhere during the next legislative session.”
