In the fourth quarter, Nio Inc delivered a record 72,689 vehicles, within the guidance range of 72,000 to 75,000 units.
Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) saw record deliveries in December, as volume for the Nio main brand rebounded and deliveries for the Onvo sub-brand picked up speed.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered a record 31,138 vehicles in December, marking the first time it’s seen single-month deliveries exceed the 30,000 mark, according to data released today.
This is up 72.87 percent from 18,012 in the same month last year and up 51.34 percent from 20,575 in November.
The Nio main brand delivered 20,610 vehicles in December, up 14.42 percent from 18,012 in the same month last year and up 33.03 percent from 15,493 in November.
The Onvo sub-brand delivered 10,528 vehicles in December, up 107.16 percent from 5,082 in November.
Onvo launched its first model, the L60 SUV (sport utility vehicle), on September 19 and deliveries began on September 28.
In the fourth quarter, Nio Inc delivered a record 72,689 vehicles, which is within the guidance range of 72,000 to 75,000 vehicles.
Deliveries for the quarter were up 45.25 percent from 50,045 in the same quarter last year and up 17.52 percent from 61,855 in the third quarter.
The Nio main brand delivered 52,760 vehicles in the fourth quarter, up 5.43 percent from 50,045 in the same quarter last year, but down 13.54 percent from 61,023 in the third quarter.
The Onvo sub-brand delivered 19,929 vehicles in the fourth quarter, up from 832 in the third quarter.
For the full year 2024, Nio Inc delivered 221,970 vehicles, up 38.70 percent.
The Nio main brand delivered 201,209 vehicles in 2024, up 25.73 percent year-on-year. The Onvo sub-brand delivered 20,761 vehicles in 2024.
Nio Inc’s cumulative deliveries since inception amounted to 671,564 vehicles, including 650,803 vehicles under the Nio main brand and 20,761 vehicles under the Onvo sub-brand.
The company aims to see deliveries double to about 440,000 units in 2025, its management previously said.
Nio would enter a new product cycle starting in 2025 with new deliveries under the Onvo and Firefly brands, and the company would enter a faster growth phase, its management said on a November 20 earnings call.
Nio officially launched the Firefly brand at Nio Day 2024 on December 21, and had the sub-brand’s first model — with the same name as the brand — unveiled.
The Firefly went on pre-sales at Nio Day 2024 for RMB 148,800 ($20,380.) Nio’s executive flagship sedan, the ET9, was also officially launched at the event, with a starting price of RMB 788,000.
Onvo would launch two SUVs next year, including a six- or seven-seater and a big five-seater to take on Li Auto’s Li L8 and Li L7, Nio management said on November 20.
