Nothing’s new app, Nothing Community Widgets, features games and tools designed by its user community. This app is available exclusively for Nothing smartphones like the Phone 2a Plus and Phone 2. Among the first widgets available through the app is a classic snake game similar to the iconic Nokia version available on older phones. The company noted that the idea originated from Nothing user Rahul Janardhanan in January. Instead of developing it internally, Nothing collaborated with community developer Thomas Legendre, known for his work on Ear (web) and the Simone Glyph Game, to bring the nostalgic game to life.

Nokia snake game on Nothing phones: How to play
The Snake game widget can be downloaded through the Nothing Community Widgets app on the Google Play Store. It is compatible with the Nothing Phone 1, Phone 2, and Phone 2a series smartphones. After downloading the game, users can add the widget to their home screen. If the widget doesn’t appear in the home screen widgets section, try updating the Nothing Launcher app via the Play Store.
To start playing the Snake game, tap the widget on your home screen. Much like the classic Nokia game, the objective is to consume red dots to lengthen the snake while avoiding collisions with its own body.
Each dot adds a point and increases the snake’s speed. The game ends if the snake crashes into itself. However, the controls have undergone a major change; instead of relying on directional keypad buttons as on Nokia phones, players can now guide the snake using swipe gestures which include: up, down, left, and right directions.
Users can pause the game by tapping the screen or check the high score by double-tapping. The game ends when the snake hits an obstacle, and the final score will be displayed.
This Snake game widget is part of Nothing’s initiative to offer exclusive, community-driven widgets for its users. Additionally, the company is encouraging community contributions and plans to introduce more intuitive and personalised features to its operating system.
