Nubia is getting ready to announce its second-gen clamshell foldable smartphone it seems. The Nubia Flip 2 has just appeared on TENAA; which is China’s equivalent to the FCC. The design of the Nubia Flip 2 has been confirmed this way and some of its specs.
The Nubia Flip 2 design has just been revealed, along with display specs
If you check out the images in the gallery below the article, you’ll see the phone in question. You’ll immediately notice how much larger the cover display is. Nubia is ready to switch its small(er) circular panel for this rectangular one.
Based on the provided information, that display will measure 3 inches in diagonal. It will be an OLED panel with a 682 x 422 resolution. The main, foldable display, will also be an OLED panel, but it will measure 6.85 inches. The resolution of that panel will be 2970 x 1188.
You’ll notice that two cameras are located on the back of the phone, and they’re vertically aligned. Below them, a ring flash is included too. The power/lock and volume up and down buttons sit on the right-hand side of the phone.
Its rear cameras do not protrude all that much
If you look hard enough, you’ll notice that a display camera hole is centered on the main display. The frame seems to have some curvature to it, and the phone’s power/lock button will double as a fingerprint scanner. The phone does seem to be quite thin, and its cameras do protrude a bit, but not much.
The Nubia Flip launched earlier this year, in February. It arrived to global markets in April. If Nubia intends to keep its release cycle, the next-gen model will launch in Q1 next year. That’s a possibility.
We still don’t know any other specs other than the display ones. The last-gen model did have a rather modest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor on the inside, so this could be a budget phone too, despite the fact it’s a foldable.
