Nvidia unveils new gaming chips, AI tools for robots, cars – Agencia EFE

New York City, US, Jan 7 (EFE).- Nvidia unveiled its new range of gaming chips on Monday at the CES 2025 technology show in Las Vegas, and revealed its future goal of using artificial intelligence (AI) training to improve robots and cars.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the new gaming chips use the company’s ‘Blackwell’ AI technology to deliver hyper-realistic graphics that can reproduce everything from tiny details in objects and textiles to human faces almost perfectly.

The chips, called RTX 50, will go on sale between January and February, with prices ranging from $549 to $1,999.

According to Huang, the new $549 mid-range gaming chips will rival the company’s previous flagship chip, the RTX 4090 , which sells for $1,600.

In addition to the chips, the American tech giant has developed Cosmos — an AI model that generates realistic videos that can be used to train robots and autonomous vehicles more cheaply.

“The ChatGPT moment for general robotics is just around the corner,” Huang said, explaining that Cosmos has been trained with 20 million hours of video to help robots and cars “understand the physical world.”

Anticipating a future full of autonomous vehicles, Nvidia’s chief executive announced that Toyota will use its technology to power advanced driver assistance in several models, although he did not specify which models.

The US chipmaker also announced a $3,000 personal AI supercomputer called ‘Digits’, powered by its new GB10 Grace Blackwell super chip.

In 2024, Nvidia shares soared more than 170 percent, and on Monday the company closed at an all-time high thanks to demand for AI chips. EFE
