CENTRAL NEW YORK — The New York State Department of Transportation announced the release of its app, “I-81 Connect” on Thursday.
The free app will allow users to track traffic during the construction of the $34.1 billion I-81 Viaduct Project. The Department of Transportation said that the app enforces the idea that community engagement is of utmost importance.
Department of Transportation Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez said the construction project is the largest infrastructure project in N.Y.S.D.O.T. history.
“The Department of Transportation is bringing this to life across the state but in many ways in Central New York,” Commissioner Dominguez said.
App users will be able to speak with a member of the D.O.T. directly.
