Of course Samsung's Latest TV Remotes have an AI button

Summary: AI is everywhere, and that includes Samsung’s new 2025 lineup of TVs. The AI button on the remote is for Vision AI, which Samsung first debuted at CES in January.

Samsung’s 2025 lineup of TVs is now mostly available. I had the chance to check them out for a few hours last week, and one thing that caught my eye was the remote. Not only is it pretty minimal (not to mention solar-powered), but it also has a dedicated AI button. That looks suspiciously like Galaxy AI.

This button is for Samsung Vision AI, which can do a number of different things. Vision AI has a suite of features like Live Translate, create wallpapers with Generative AI, and Search with AI to name a few. With the latter being perhaps the most impressive. You can press the Vision AI feature and Search with AI to get information on what you’re watching. It’ll tell you the actors and actresses, what other movies and TV shows they’ve been a part of, and more.

Much like with Samsung’s smartphones, you can use Live Translate to translate what you’re watching. It will generate subtitles for you in your selected language.

Samsung’s Universal Gestures is part of Vision AI, too

The Universal Gestures feature is also part of the Vision AI suite, and it’s honestly probably my favorite part of the suite so far. I’ve already written about why Samsung Universal Gestures is so unique and how impressive it actually is.

Forget hunting between couch cushions for that elusive remote. Samsung’s Universal Gestures is like having a magic wand for your TV – you can now control everything with a flick of your hand. Will you use it every single time? Probably not. But when you’re buried under a blanket, snacking, or can’t find the remote (again), this feature is your tech superhero. It’s another brilliant trick that makes Samsung’s ecosystem feel like it’s one step ahead of every other tech brand.

Samsung first debuted Vision AI at CES in January

Samsung first debuted Vision AI at CES during its First Look event in Las Vegas. The demos that we had there were kind of canned. Which made me believe that Vision AI wouldn’t be coming anytime soon. But to my surprise, it’s here on the Samsung QN90F and the rest of Samsung’s Neo QLED 4K and Neo QLED 8K TVs.

Vision AI is, well a better name for this than bringing over the “Galaxy AI” name. Since a lot of these features are about “Vision”. I really can’t wait to see how Samsung improves and expands this feature.
