OnePlus 13 display to get a special certification; phone's price leaks

The OnePlus 13 display will get a special certification from DisplayMate. On top of that, some other details have been revealed, including the phone’s pricing, and a detail pertaining to its fingerprint scanner.

The OnePlus 13 display will get a special certification

Let’s take things one step at a time, let’s focus on the display. As many of you know by now, the OnePlus 13 will feature a brand new panel from BOE, the BOE X2. Both OPPO and OnePlus have partnered up with BOE for that panel.

It has just been announced that this panel will be DisplayMate A++ certified, which makes it one of a kind, for the time being. That will be the very first A++ rating that DisplayMate will give out.

Another source has confirmed that an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner will be used. That’s what we expected would happen, and it’s finally happening. OnePlus is ditching optical fingerprint scanners, at least when it comes to its flagship devices.

The device will be around 10% more expensive in China

On top of all that, the OnePlus 13 pricing has surfaced too. A tipster from China that we’re not too familiar with claims that the OnePlus 13 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will cost CNY5,299 in China.

That represents a 10.4% price hike from the OnePlus 12 with that same setup. That phone was priced at CNY4,799. Do note that its price tag was higher in the US, and much higher in Europe.

If the company does the same for the US variant of the device, the OnePlus 12 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage would end up costing around $880-890, and the model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage would cost around $990-$1,000. It remains to be seen, however.

It will offer up to 24GB of RAM and use Sony’s new camera sensor for its main shooter

The OnePlus 13 is rumored to include a 6.82-inch QHD+ 120Hz panel and be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite aka Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. The phone will offer up to 24GB of RAM, though probably up to 16GB of RAM outside of China.

A 6,000mAh battery will sit on the inside, while 100W wired and 50W wireless charging will also be on offer. A 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s LYT-818 sensor) will be backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
