The OnePlus Open 2 may not launch as soon as we thought. Several reports thus far suggested that the phone will launch in the first quarter of next year. Well, that may not be the case, if the latest report is to be believed.
The OnePlus Open 2 may not launch as soon as we all hoped
This one comes from Sanju Choudhary, a tipster. He claims that the device will arrive in the second half of 2025. That’s a big difference from initial reports. Truth be said, the previous report, for Q1 2025, came from Digital Chat Station, a well-known source.
There’s a caveat here, though. Digital Chat Station was talking about the OPPO Find N5, not the OnePlus Open 2. Those are expected to be the same phones, though, with different branding, as their predecessors were.
So, the OPPO Find N5 could arrive sooner than the OnePlus Open 2. As a reminder, the OPPO Find N3 and OnePlus Open arrived at the same time, basically. So… anything is possible, actually.
There’s still hope we’ll see these two foldables in the first quarter of next year
We do hope that the OPPO Find N5 / OnePlus Open 2 will arrive in Q1 2025. The original phones are well over a year old now, and even though they’re still amongst the best foldables out there, if not the best, it would be nice to see an improvement.
Based on the rumors we’ve seen, the OnePlus Open 2 will mark a considerable improvement. A notably larger battery is rumored, along with a thinner and lighter body. The phone is also tipped to be more powerful with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and offer an improved camera setup.
Both OPPO and OnePlus are keeping everything under wraps for now. Neither company mentioned their new book-style foldables in any way, shape, or form. So… all we can do is wait.
