The OnePlus Open units in the US will get Android 15 next week. The global Android 15 update for the device started rolling out yesterday, but it seems like the US models will have to wait a bit longer.
The OnePlus Open will start getting Android 15 in the US & Europe next week
OnePlus provided a bit more clarity to its users, in regards to the rollout schedule. The update started rolling out to India, but it will spread to more markets soon. The US, Europe, and other global markets will start getting it next week.
Once the rollout starts, it should arrive to all units rather quickly, despite the fact it’s a staged rollout. We do expect all users to get the update within a week after the rollout starts unless OnePlus decided to pull the update for some reason.
In our article yesterday, we talked about the changes this update is bringing. The OxygenOS 15 changelog is quite long, actually. OxygenOS 15, for those of you who don’t know, comes pre-installed on top of Android 15 for OnePlus devices.
Quite a few changes have been indicated by OnePlus
OnePlus is bringing the industry’s first parallel processing architecture to the device with this update. It is supposed to offer “parallel response and unified rendering to elevate multi-app switching to a new level”.
Parallel animation for a wider range of scenarios is also a part of the package, while AI Retouch and AI Notes are also getting added. Do note that those two features have a ton of additional AI features within them, such as the ability to unblur images, erase reflections, and so on.
Flux themes are also a part of the package. They will allow you to create some unique home and lock screens to use on the device. Live Alerts are getting added too, which basically represents OPPO’s take on Apple’s Dynamic Island.
Many more changes are expected as part of this update. Based on the OnePlus 12 update that we’ve been using, this will be a worthy upgrade for the OnePlus Open. If you’d like to check out the full changelog, check out the gallery below.
