OnePlus Watch 3 render surfaces online with a rotating crown

OnePlus is working on its new smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 3. It is coming with major upgrades compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2. The biggest one is a rotating crown for easier navigation and an ECG for heart health. The smartwatch will likely go official early next year, but it is not clear whether the watch will launch along with the OnePlus 13 series that hits the market on January 7, 2025.

OnePlus Watch 3 to include a rotating crown and ECG functionality

Recently, a report from SmartPrix claimed that the OnePlus Watch 3 will feature a rotating crown, which is reportedly one of the major upgrades when compared to its predecessor. The same publication even created a render based on the prototype, which showed the rotating crown design with smaller bezels.

Interestingly, the OnePlus Watch 2 had a crown, but it was non-functional, it was just there for design purposes. This new device will have a rotating crown which easily allows the users to scroll and navigate through menus for a smooth and interactive experience.

Apart from the crown, the OnePlus Watch 3 will also offer ECG to check heart rhythm. This feature is already available on other smartwatches like theSamsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Google Pixel Watch 3. However, note that ECG feature availability may depend on local regulations in different countries.

What other features will the OnePlus Watch 3 offer?

The One Plus Watch 3 will retain the One Plus Watch 2’s processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1. This will also be coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Similarly, the smartwatch would feature Wear OS 5 and a custom RTOS.

Battery life will also be one of the key points in the OnePlus Watch 3. It will have a 500 mAh battery which should last all day and even last longer than that, depending on how the user will use it. On top of that, the watch is touted to be LTE-enabled for directly calling and messaging from it without carrying the phone in your pocket. But this can remain restricted to some particular regions like China.

It may arrive with black and green color options. Other health features rumored include menstrual cycle tracking and trip guard. It will have a new power saver mode. In related news, the OnePlus Watch 3 is expected to carry the model number OPWWE251 similar to the OPPO Watch X2 suggesting it could be a rebranded version.
