The OPPO Find N5 has been all over the news recently, for a good reason. This will become the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone. With that being said, some new OPPO Find N5 images have surfaced, showing us how thin the device is in a folded state.
The OPPO Find N5 images show how thin the phone is in a folded state
You can check out those images below. OPPO focused on teasing the device’s thinness when unfolded, while the device will also be quite thin when folded, and that’s an even more impressive feat.
As you can see, the design overall is similar to what the OPPO Find N3 offers, which is a good thing, but this phone is considerably thinner. These images paint a really nice picture, even without the hardcore data.
We still don’t have the information regarding the phone’s thinness in a folded form. We know that it will be thinner than the HONOR Magic V3 when unfolded, so it will be less than 4.35mm thick when unfolded.
It’s expected to be thinner than 9.2mm when folded
The HONOR Magic V3 is 9.2mm thick when folded, so this one will fly under that level. If we had to guess, we’d say it will be slightly over 9mm thick when folded, maybe 9.1mm or something like that.
Needless to say, that’s extremely thin. The OPPO Find N5 will certainly feel like a regular, slab smartphone in the hand when folded. That’s the whole point, and something every book-style foldable should offer.
Now, you’ll also notice that the phone is coming with a decreased camera bump on the back. A notably slimmer camera bump compared to the OPPO Find N3. I acutally preferred the large camera bump on the back of that phone, as it served as a nice anchor for the index finger. This does look miles better, though, and most people will prefer it.
You get to see the phone’s flat sides, with rounded edges here, and the power/lock key which will double as a fingerprint scanner. The cutouts for the phone’s stereo speakers are also shown here, as is the Type-C USB port.
The OPPO Find N5 will become official next month, in February. That goes for both Chinese and global markets, by the way.
