If you’ve been following Android smartphones for a long time, you might agree with me that we hit a plateau in terms of drastic spec upgrades a few years ago. There weren’t that many spec categories that could be reasonably maxed out, and cameras were so good that any improvements were hard to see in actual use.
However, as recently as last year, it seemed something awakened in a lot of smartphone OEMs, and they suddenly started taking cameras seriously again. The crown of camera king hasn’t stayed atop one device for longer than half a year, and it looks like that might be the case yet again, as Oppo announces the launch date for its Find X8 Ultra.
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra Will Be Arriving on the Scene on April 10th

The Oppo Find X8 series was a solid set of smartphones, and while it might have seemed like the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro would be the only entrants in the family, Oppo isn’t done releasing flagship smartphones in that lineup. The Oppo Find X8 Ultra, a prospective camera beast, is on the way. However, Oppo also plans to release a compact smartphone in the form of the Find X8S, along with its slightly bigger brother, the Find X8S+.
Other devices, including the Oppo Pad 4 Pro, the Oppo Watch X2 Mini, and the Oppo Enco Free 4 earbuds, will be available on that date.

However, before you get too excited, there’s no confirmation as to whether Oppo plans to take these smartphones out of China. For now, I’d recommend assuming they won’t, but if any of them happens to—especially the Find X8 Ultra—it’ll definitely be enough to make us happy.
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra Will Have the Biggest Battery Ever Seen in the Find X Portfolio
While a lot of the focus of the Find X8 Ultra will be on its camera, we can all agree that as long as it matches the spec sheet of the Find X8 Pro in all other categories, it’ll be deemed a major winner. However, Oppo refuses to get complacent, and it looks like the Find X8 Ultra will bring some sensible upgrades.

Zhou Yibao, an Oppo executive, confirmed the device’s battery capacity in a reply to a comment made under one of his posts. The Find X8 Ultra will have a 6,100mAh battery, which isn’t just big but also the biggest battery Oppo has ever put in any of its Find X flagship phones. That’s pretty notable, especially as it is roughly 200mAh more than in the Find X8 Pro.
On top of that, he also provided details regarding the phone’s charging specs. It will come with 100W wired fast charging, which again beats out the Find X8 Pro considering it is 25% higher. According to Zhou Yibao, the 100W speed should charge the massive battery in just 35 minutes. There’s no word on wireless charging, but it is reasonable to expect it to be 50W, as that seems to be the standard for serious Chinese flagships.
