Curved displays are slowly, but surely, becoming a thing of the past in today’s smartphones. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra will ditch a curved display too, as the phone is reported to come with a flat panel.
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra will ditch a curved display too, it seems
This information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known tipsters out there. He also claims that the phone could utilize LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) packaging technology in order to reduce bezel size.
As some of you may know, Xiaomi utilized this tech for the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. Chances are that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will also utilize it, and now OPPO is looking to get on board too.
If we had to guess, we’d say that the OPPO Find X8 Ultra will use the quad micro-curved approach to design. In other words, its display will be flat, but the glass on top will be curved on all four sides, just a little bit, though. The same goes for its back, but we’re only guessing.
That’s what OPPO did with the OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, so… it’s what we’re expecting for the ‘Ultra’ model too. A number of other smartphone OEMs went down the same road.
Qualcomm’s most powerful chip and a silicon-carbon battery
OPPO will likely utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC to fuel this phone. A 6,000mAh battery is rumored too, and that will be a silicon-carbon battery. The phone could also support 100W wired, and 50W wireless charging. IP68 and IP69 certifications will also be a part of the package.
Now, this will be a camera-centric phone. It is rumored to use a 50-megapixel main camera (1-inch type sensor, Sony LYT-900 most likely). A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (Sony’s IMX882 sensor) is also tipped, as is a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (1/1.56-inch sensor, Sony’s IMX906, 3x optical zoom).
The last camera on the back is tipped to be a second periscope telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel unit (Sony’s IMX882 sensor, 6x optical zoom). Hasselblad will also be a part of the package.
