Summary: OPPO’s upcoming compact flagship smartphone will have an unexpected name. The device will be called the OPPO Find X8S, instead of the rumored OPPO Find X8 Mini name. It will launch alongside the Find X8S+ and Find X8 Ultra handsets next month and will be fueled by the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC. That device will include a 6.3-inch display.
OPPO is expected to announce its new ‘Ultra’ flagship next month, along with a couple of other devices. One of those devices is OPPO’s compact flagship phone, which will have an unexpected name, it seems.
OPPO’s upcoming compact flagship smartphone will have an unexpected name
Its name will be the OPPO Find X8S, based on what a trusted source said. The information comes from Digital Chat Station. The rumored name of this device was, thus far, the OPPO Find X8 Mini.
Why the name change? Well, the OPPO Find X9 will also have a smaller display than the Find X8, so the guess is that OPPO didn’t want to confuse its customers, and this change made sense to the company.
Also, there’s a third phone that will launch alongside the OPPO Find X8 Ultra and Find X8S next month. The OPPO Find X8S+ is allegedly also coming. That phone will have a 6.6-inch display, while the OPPO Find X8S will come with a 6.3-inch panel. The ‘Ultra’ model will have the largest display, of course, around 6.7-6.8 inches.
MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9400+ flagship SoC will fuel both the Find X8S & Find X8S+
Both the OPPO Find X8S and Find X8S+ will be fueled by the Dimensity 9400+ processor. That chip will become official on April 11, so we’re guessing that OPPO’s devices will launch after that date.
The OPPO Find X8S is also rumored to offer 80W wired charging, and its battery will be larger than 5,700mAh. The phone will also measure slightly over 7mm in terms of thickness, and it will weigh 187 grams. The bezels around the display will be narrower than 1.38mm, so they’ll be very thin.
The OPPO Find X8S+ will likely have very similar specs to the Find X8S, but it will be larger. The ‘Ultra’, on the other hand, will offer a 6,000mAh battery, a powerful quad camera setup, a QHD display with a flat screen and curved glass, and more. You can check some of the confirmed specs here.
