Streamers hear your disgruntled cries over your growing list of subscriptions, and are working to aggregate as many entertainment options as it can in one place — and one bill.
Prime Video is leading the race with more than 100 add-on subscriptions available on the Amazon streaming platform, most recently adding Apple TV+ to their roster last month. As of now, Prime Video’s expansive collection of subscription offerings in the U.S include Max, Paramount+, Crunchyroll, MGM+, Starz and dozens more.
“Prime Video is a first-stop entertainment destination offering a wide selection of premium programming,” Mike Hopkins, SVP and Head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, said while announcing Apple TV+’s entrance to the fold last month.
Add-on subscriptions prices vary depending on the channel, ranging in price from $6.99/month to $10.99/month. This is in addition to an Amazon Prime membership, which in the U.S costs $139 per year (or $14.99 per month). Plus, nearly all the channels offer a 7-day free trial so you can test out a platform’s entertainment options before committing to the monthly fee.
Alternatively, consumers can sign up for a stand-alone Prime Video membership for $8.99 monthly. This summer, the company also revamped Prime Video’s user interface, aiming to boost engagement and make it easier to see what’s included for no additional charge with the streaming service.
