Razer officially unveiled the RTX 50-powered Blade 16 gaming laptop back at CES 2025, but the Blade 18 was surprisingly absent. With no official announcement, consumers have been left to wonder when Razer would reveal the refreshed model of its largest gaming laptop. As it turns out, that time is today. Razer has now announced the Blade 18 powered by NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series GPUs.
The 2025 model of the Blade 18 looks, unsurprisingly, much like its 2024 variant, but there are some notable upgrades. The most obvious is that it now comes with an RTX 50-series GPU inside. Which nets the owner use of NVIDIA’s new multi-frame generation technology. Additionally, it comes with a dual mode display that can bounce between UHD+ or FHD+. The laptop can come with up to an RTX 5090 GPU, but you aren’t stuck with that if you want something slightly less beefy.
There’s also the cost factor. The RTX 5090 variant of the Blade 18 is $4,499.99. That’s not a small chunk of change for a gaming laptop. The good news is that you can drop that price by going with the RTX 5080 or even the RTX 5070 Ti. That reduces the cost to either $3,699.99 or $3,199.99 respectively. Those two variants come with 1TB of storage and 32GB of RAM. The RTX 5090 variant comes with 2TB of storage. Additionally, you can bump up to 4TB of storage and 64GB of RAM if you want. For a price, of course. This variant retails for $4,899.99.
Even with the reduced price of the RTX 5070 Ti variant, it’s still prohibitively expensive for many. The solution may be found with Razer’s Blade 16.
You can pre-order the RTX 50-series Blade 18 and Blade 16 today
Razer’s gaming laptops are expensive. That’s no surprise to anyone who’s ever considered purchasing one. Having said that, some of Razer’s configurations aren’t too far off from the competition. The point is, if you’re looking at a Blade 18 with an RTX 5070 Ti, it’s worth considering the 2025 Blade 16 instead. This can also come with up to an RTX 5090. However, the sweet spot might just be the RTX 5070 Ti variant. This retails at $2,799.99 so you save a few hundred extra dollars. And it’s available for pre-order today alongside the new Blade 18.
The 16-inch display is also still quite large and shouldn’t really impact your gaming experience. Chances are, if you’re playing at home you’re going to use HDMI out to an external monitor anyway. So you might as well save yourself some money in the process.
Laptops will ship by April 30, and they come with free gifts
If you’re planning to purchase one of these laptops, pre-orders might start today but they won’t ship out for another two months. Razer confirms these will ship by April 30 so you’ll be waiting a little while yet before you can play games on them. For your patience, and your willingness to pre-order Razer is giving some gifts to buyers. The Blade 16 can come with either the Razer USB-C Dock or a Razer Skin for the laptop. Specifically the X-Ray Chroma version.
The Blade 18, meanwhile, swaps out the option of the USB-Dock for the Razer Laptop Stand Chroma. Interestingly, not all configurations show a free gift. For example, the RTX 5090 version of the Blade 16 removes the section up top that shows the free gift unless you go with the 4TB/64GB config of the laptop. This could just be an error on the website, but it’s worth keeping in mind.
