Razer this morning is announcing the 2025 model of its Blade 16 gaming laptop, and it’s showcasing it at CES this year, just as it tends to do with several new products every year. Some of which end up being concepts before eventually making it to production. For example, last year at CES Razer showed off its concept Sensa HD haptics seat cushion, which later turned into the Razer Freyja.
Razer has always been known for making some of the thinnest gaming laptops around. It’s a trait that really puts into perspective just how strong its engineering team is. Because somehow, every year, they manage to squeeze all this power and performance into a super thin chassis, while also making sure the laptops stay at optimal temperatures. All thanks to top-notch cooling systems. This year, Razer seems to have outdone itself, as it confirms the 2025 Blade 16 is the thinnest ever.
Now, unfortunately, Razer hasn’t confirmed many of the specs or components for this version of the laptop. Nor has it officially announced any pricing or exact launch dates. Chances are, that info is coming later. Perhaps closer to the release date. Razer has confirmed a few things though.
The 2025 Razer Blade 16 is 32% thinner than the previous model
Razer doesn’t give out specifics here, so we’re not sure exactly what the precise dimensions are. However, it says the Razer Blade 16 is now 32% thinner than the previous model. The previous model is 0.87 inches thin, so if we calculate the values based on Razer’s percentage, the new Blade 16 this year should be somewhere around 0.59 inches thin. Now we’re just guessing on that. So it’s entirely possible that value is wrong. But that’s our best guess.
In addition to the thinness, Razer has also mentioned a few other details. The keyboard is new and has a new travel of 1.5mm. Razer says this is 50% more travel than before and it makes the typing experience more enjoyable. It has also confirmed the CPU coming in this model. It can come with up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU. That means you’ll have options for CPUs below that, which could help decrease the price a bit. Whatever it ends up being at the top-end.
Lastly, Razer says this comes with a QHD+ OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate. There’s no word yet on whether or not Razer will offer other display options. It usually does though, so that could happen here too.
Razer doesn’t specify the GPU options, at least, it didn’t in its press release that we had access to. With that said, chances are these will be sporting the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs. Acer has already announced the new Predator Helios lineup which comes with these cards. And Razer always launches a new line with the top options. We can’t confirm this, of course, but based on past releases, it’s highly likely.
Launching Q1 2025
Razer doesn’t mention an exact date, but it does say the new Blade 16 will be available sometime in Q1 of 2025. We don’t know how much it will cost yet, but it will be costly. That’s a certainty. For one, it’s a Razer gaming laptop. They always cost a lot. It also uses the latest AMD CPUs, and likely the most powerful GPUs from NVIDIA’s new RTX 50-series. So, all of that will add up. When the new laptop launches, you will be able to get it directly from Razer’s website, as well as authorized retail partners.
